Cleaning

Cleaning and upkeep of the room is the student’s own responsibility. Cleaning and upkeep of the
common areas in the corridor, such as the kitchen and living room is shared between the tenants,
normally on a weekly rota.

Room temperature

You can expect a room temperature at 20 degrees Celsius measured at the center of the rooms. Please note that heating systems and radiators are regulated automatically, which means that there is not necessarily any problem if a heater is cold or lukewarm – this is regulated by thermostats. If your room temperature gets lower than 20 degrees Celsius you should of course report this.

Smoke detectors

Please note that if there is no central fire alarm, there are smoke detectors mounted in your ceiling. These are provided by the house owner, but the tenant is responsible for changing batteries when they give a “low battery” signal (short beeps).

Reporting Problems

All problems concerning plumbing, heating, electricity, or other installations in the house should be reported directly by the tenant to the house owner’s service staff – see specific information below for each area. You may of course always contact the Housing Office for assistance in this communication but usually it’s easier and faster to contact the house owner directly. In most cases, they have their own service key to your apartment and may, with your permission, enter your room without you being there.

If you have problems with your internet connection, please see contactinformation below. NOTE: in most cases the technical support can only help you if you are in the room with a computer when you call them.

Emergencies like water leakage, plumbing, electricity and heat or other that can cause damage to persons or the building should  immediately be reported to the house owner even after office hours. Please see Emergencies for more information.
