Making changes to your contract
All regulations are stated in the leasing terms and conditions in your contract. Please make sure that you read it carefully to keep yourself well informed of the rules that apply for you.
Your contract is valid from the date you accept it on My Pages. The contracted period, i.e. the period for which you are renting the room/apartment, is clearly stated on your contract as a rental start date and rental end date.
Please note that the contract will not automatically cancel if you decide not to collect the keys to the room or if you decide to return the keys earlier than the end date of your contract. Changing the dates in the contract is only possible if both you, the tenant, and us, the landlord agrees to the changes.
You are liable to pay rent for the contracted period regardless of your actual arrival- or departure date or wether you come to Sweden or not. Therefore it is important that you keep yourself well informed of the rules and procedures to make changes to your contracted period.
Requests to change the dates in your contract must be done in writing by sending an e-mail to info@housingoffice.se.
Cancelling before the start date of the contract
If you need to cancel a booked apartment before your contracted period has started, you can do so free of charge up until one month before the rental start date of the contract.
If you request a cancellation less than one month before the rental start, you will be charged with the first month’s rent.
You must make the request in writing by sending an e-mail to info@housingoffice.se.
Example:
If the rental start date of your contract is August 15th and you wish to cancel the booking, you have to inform us on July 14th at the very latest for it to be free of charge.
If you send us the request to cancel the contract between July 15th-August 14th you will have to pay for the first month’s rent.
If you want to terminate the contract after the rental start date of your contract has passed, you must give the full notice period of the contract. (See section “Termination of contract” below).

Termination of contract
If the rental start date of your contract has passed, you must give the full notice period of the contract to terminate it earlier than the original rental end date. The notice period of contracts in our student accommodation is three (3) months, counting full calendar months.
The rental end date can only be set to the last day of a month except in January, June and August, when the University semesters start/end.
You are liable to pay rent for the entire period of your contract, including the notice period and we cannot make any exceptions to this rule.
Requests for termination must be sent in writing by e-mail to info@housingoffice.se.
Example:
If you would like to change the rental end date of your contract to April 30th, you have to send us your request for termination by January 31st at the very latest. If your request is sent after this date (from February 1st) your contract can only be terminated by May 31st at the earliest.
