Uppsala University also has a campus in Visby, on the Island of Gotland, which is located approximately 250 km south-southeast of Uppsala. UUHO offers a limited number of rooms in Visby for students at Campus Gotland. Fee-paying Master- and Bachelor-students admitted to 2-3 years programs are prioritized for these rooms but exchange students addmitted for 1-2 semesters should also apply for housing through UUHO. If there aren’t enough rooms available through UUHO for all applicants, students will be helped and guided by Rindi, the student union in Visby, with securing housing through the private market.
The rooms offered by UUHO are on Mejerigatan 5-7, Fältgatan 73 and Söderväg 1. The rent ranges from approx. 2600-4250 SEK/month (autumn 2019).
Rooms on Mejerigatan and Fältgatan are furnished, single room apartments with kitchenette and private bathroom. The tenant has access to shared kitchen and laundry room in the building. The rent includes water, electricity, heating and internet access. There is no wifi, connection is via a net cable to the wall outlet. Kitchen utensils are not included.
The accommodation on Söderväg 1 was newly built and opened up just in 2018. The building is centrally located Close to the University, 1,3 kilometers. Walking distance by five minutes to grocery store, shopping centre, bus terminal and Lovely biking trails. Tenants share, kitchen, living room, 5 WC and 5 showers. Every room offers: a bed, a warderobe, a desk, a chair and a small fridge.
