Uppsala University also has a campus in Visby, on the Island of Gotland, which is located approximately 250 km south-southeast of Uppsala. UUHO offers a limited number of rooms in Visby for students at Campus Gotland. Fee-paying Master- and Bachelor-students admitted to 2-3 years programs are prioritized for these rooms but exchange students addmitted for 1-2 semesters should also apply for housing through UUHO. If there aren’t enough rooms available through UUHO for all applicants, students will be helped and guided by Rindi, the student union in Visby, with securing housing through the private market.
The rooms offered by UUHO are on Mejerigatan 5-7, Fältgatan 73 and Halsjärnsgatan 13. The rental cost is approx. 3850 – 5150 SEK/month (autumn 2021).
Rooms on Mejerigatan and Fältgatan are furnished, single room apartments with kitchenette and private bathroom. The apartment includes a bed, a desk, a chair and a shelf. The tenant has access to shared kitchen and laundry room in the building. The rent includes water, electricity, heating and internet access. There is no wifi, connection is via a net cable to the wall outlet. Kitchen utensils are not included.
Rooms at Halsjärnsgatan are situated in the southern part of Visby. They are furnished for 1 person and the size is 28 sqm. They are open space with combined bedroom, living room and kitchen all-in-one. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, stove, microwave, cookware and furniture. The apartments are furnished and also have bathroom with shower and washing machine. There is also garden and access to the garden furniture.
